Roundabout Construction Starting April 1

Roadways in the Town Center area will be closed starting April 1 as construction begins on a roundabout that will replace the existing three-way intersection of Zverina Lane, Westwood Drive and Roe Lane.

All buildings in Town Center will still be easily accessible, but will be accessed from one entrance only.

Work will start April 1 and last about three months.

During construction, the city's Communications Center, the Historical Village and Strongsville Food Bank will be reachable from Zverina Lane, which runs off Pearl Road.

The police station, City Council chambers, Mayor's Court and Strongsville Library will be accessible from Westwood Drive, which also runs off Pearl.

The Rec and Senior Center will be accessed from Royalton Road, using the entrance to the Greens of Strongsville shopping center.

The recycling bins that are usually outside the Food Bank have been moved to the Rec Center parking lot.

Roundabout construction was originally expected to start March 1, but was pushed back a month. Work on the other parts of the Town Center Enhancement and Walkability Initiative -- including a pavilion, splash pad, a playground and tennis, pickleball, basketball and volleyball courts -- will continue through the spring as well.
