Fire Academy for Kids to be Offered Again

The 2024 Strongsville Fire Academy for Kids, which is a free program for children ages 10-11 at the time of the academy and who live in Strongsville, will be held June 5 and 6 at Strongsville Fire Station 4, 17000 Prospect Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m..

Registration begins April 1,  2024. PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER EARLY. REGISTRATIONS RECEIVED BEFORE APRIL 1 WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

The academy is a 6-hour program that allows children to learn and participate in skills related to the fire and EMS fields such as CPR, fire extinguisher use and many other evolutions with a free lunch provided. It is filled on a first come, first served basis.

Each day, the academy will host 21 children for a total of 42 over the two days. If there is enough interest in the program, June 7 and possibly June 10 will be added. Requests for dates will be considered, but due to the first come, first served basis, honoring requests is difficult and dates are assigned.

To register please send your request for participation to kids.academy@strongsville.org  with a parent/guardian name, child’s name, child’s age and a working phone number. Please allow one week for notification regarding acceptance into the academy and be certain to check your junk and spam folders for a response.
